a) Portfolio: In the next section of the story, the winter is over and the Miller goes to visit Hans. Write the dialogue between these two characters. Read out your dialogue to the class.
Miller: «Ah, my dear Hans! How good to see you after this long winter! How have you been?»
Hans: «Oh, it has been hard, Miller. I had barely any food left and had to sell my tools to survive.»
Miller: «Well, winter is over now! And as your true friend, I’ll make sure you don’t suffer anymore. By the way, my roof is leaking — could you help me fix it?»
Hans: «I… I sold my ladder, but I suppose I can find a way…»
Miller: «Wonderful! True friendship is priceless, isn’t it? Oh, and my son has fallen ill — perhaps you could fetch the doctor later?»
Hans: «Of course, Miller. Anything for a friend.»
