The Universal Declaration of Human Rights
“All human beings are born free and equal in dignity and rights.”
(article 1)
- What are human rights? Who are they for? Why are they important?
- What is The Declaration of Human Rights?
Решение #1
- Human rights are basic moral and legal rights that belong to every person simply because they are human. They include rights like access to clean water, food, education, freedom of belief, and equality regardless of sex, age, race, nationality, or social class. Human rights are important because they recognize the inherent dignity and value of all people everywhere and protect individuals from injustice and oppression.
- The UDHR is a landmark document adopted by the United Nations on December 10, 1948, after the horrors of World War II. It sets out 30 fundamental rights and freedoms that should be universally protected for all people. The Declaration was created by representatives from diverse countries and cultures to serve as a common standard for human rights worldwide.
