Условие

Imagine that you are preparing a project on homelessness with your friend. You have found some interesting material for the presentation and you want to read this text to your friend. You have 1.5 minutes to read the text silently, then be ready to read it out aloud. You will not have more than 1.5 minutes to read it.

There are three basic types of homelessness. The first is called ‘situational’ or ‘transitional homelessness’. This is when someone loses their home because of uncontrollable circumstances, like loss of their job or the main breadwinner. Transitionally homeless people are usually younger people and are likely to be homeless for a short period of time. There’s also ‘episodic’ or ‘cyclical’ homelessness, which is when a person falls in and out of homelessness. This often happens with drug addicts and people experiencing mental health issues. Finally, ‘chronic’ homelessness describes the state of having lived in the street for a long time. Chronically homeless people have very limited means at their disposal in order to change their situation, so they need great support from others. The streets and homeless shelters are more of a long-term arrangement for them. Chronically homeless individuals represent a much lower percentage of the population compared to the transitionally homeless.
